The George Carlington Simmons Room has a conference table for six people, a couch set for six people, and donated books in a wide variety of disciplines such as philosophy, Greek literature, English literature, English history, English culture, psychology, music and art, literature, and history.
Guidelines for using the George Simmons Room
- To ensure fair access to all eligible users, please observe the following guidelines:
- The room is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Booking can be made seven days in advance
- The room can be reserved by USC students, Faculty, and Staff.
- The room can only be reserved and occupied by a minimum of one (1) user.
- The duration of each booking session is one (1) hour.
- A maximum of one session can be reserved per day. The session can be reserved for four (4) continuous slots (or 4 hours).
- A maximum of two (2) sessions can be made per week (from Monday to Friday) per eligible user.
- Requesters are required to check the Circulation Desk before accessing the room.
- No-shows without one (1) hour advanced notice of cancellations will count against the user’s quota limit.
- Eating or drinking is strictly prohibited in the room.
- Users are responsible for any damage to the furniture and equipment in the rooms.
- Unless otherwise approved by the Director of Library Services, the George Simmons Room is reserved for booking and use by USC students, Faculty and Staff for educational and non-commercial purposes ONLY.
